April 5: The Kindly-Sounding Saint Vincent Ferrer

On April 5, 1419, the Dominican friar St. Vincent Ferrer died. Born and educated near Barcelona, Ferrer traveled widely through Europe, preaching doomsday, forcibly converting Jews to Christianity, and authoring a book called The End of Days.
